The truth is, you are sublimely blessed in every moment. There is a divine love providing your every breath and giving your foot a place to rest with each step you take. That which we need is always given though we may not always realize that we need it!
We have no choice about whether or not to receive this love, but often times we do not accept that it is love. Acceptance is a powerful practice of receiving what is given with peace, grace and gratitude.
Not every moment seems like a blessing when we look at it through our limited perspective, but if we practice acceptance with the faith that all things happen for our highest good we begin to find reasons to be grateful.
We can see the sink full of dirty dishes as an opportunity to do something useful and create order in our lives. We can say thank you for the opportunity to provide for our family. We can even say thank you for the opportunity to persevere in the face of failure, or thank you for the opportunity to change directions an try something new.
Recently I have been practicing this acceptance with my thoughts and feelings. Whenever I catch myself thinking or feeling negatively I use the mantras, “Thank you for the opportunity to complain about something.” acknowledging that existence itself is a miracle. Sometimes I use, “Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.” and acknowledge that I have the power to create ease and joy in the circumstance of others.
These quick sentences remind me that there is a great and powerful love guiding all of my experiences and that I can not always see the greater purpose of my interactions.
Through this practice I strive to accept each moment with gratitude and I allow my life to be filled with service to The One. I live with the knowledge that the acceptance of the ever flowing stream of gifts flowing forth from that One Love is more satisfying than anything I could post on a vision board, and I allow my life to be shaped by the vision of The One, rather than the limited vision of my small, self centered perspective.
Life is a Blessing,
all you have to do is accept it !~.^!
